Description

In this role, you will cut metal parts with steel saws and punch or drill holes in steel. These parts will be assembled into structures, ladders, steel I-Beams, and boat lift parts. It is essential to fabricate these parts according to the training provided by your supervisor, so you must use measuring tools to check your work.

Metal Fabricator Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs cutting and/or shaping metal from raw form into usable parts for Assembly or Aftermarket needs.
  • The process is semi-repetitive utilizing machinery, tooling, and fixtures for set up, and requiring some minor troubleshooting and adjustment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Utilizes equipment and measurement tools.
  • Moving work pieces, tools, and supplies, manually, by hand truck or forklift
  • Plans and develops necessary work processes required to perform the tasks associated with the trade of Metal Fabricator including identifying the appropriate tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Performs lay-out and assembly of work in accordance with required dimensions received through sketches, prints, written and/or verbal instructions.
